Ledger Map in an office with several PCs: what was built and how it works
For a Miracle LAN office, where every PC opens the same Miracle folder on a shared drive and several people use Ledger Map at once. Every picture uses the same example: Ramesh on PC-A, Suresh on PC-B, and the party Patel Offset.
1. A party opens on one PC at a time Ledger Map Edge
On Statement Desk, a party can be open on only one PC. Another PC can ask to take it over, and the first PC gets 10 seconds to say no.
Both open Patel Offset and both change the same import.
✕PC-A is cut off, and its later work is lost without a word.
Ramesh opens Patel Offset. The app tells our server: "PC-A has it."
Every open tab counts, shown or hidden. A green line marks a party this PC has.
Suresh chooses Patel Offset. The app asks the server first, and does not open it.
Open there since 26/10/2026 09:12. It opens here once it is closed there.
Take overBack to parties
Within a second, a pop-up appears on PC-A over any page, desk or tab.
The button has the focus, so Enter keeps the party. Escape does nothing.
At 0 s, PC-A saves its work, gives the party up and shows "open on Suresh's desk". PC-B opens it with the import as Ramesh left it.
PC-A keeps it. PC-B is told when it may ask again.
You can ask again at 09:47.
Only PC-B waits 5 minutes. Another PC could still ask.
- PC-A busy uploading PDFs or saving voucher files: it answers "busy, try again in a moment" with no pop-up.
- PC-A off, frozen or offline: PC-B gets the party after at most 15 seconds, or at once if PC-A has been silent for a minute.
- Suresh presses Cancel, or leaves the page: the pop-up on PC-A closes at once.
- Ledger Map itself (not Edge) works as before.
Good
- Two people never change one import, so nothing is booked twice.
- A forgotten open party frees itself after 10 seconds when nobody is at PC-A.
- The import moves with the party, so there is no second "Continue here".
Watch out
- A party left open in a hidden tab still blocks other PCs, until someone presses Take over. You chose this because it is simple.
- It needs a few seconds of patience on PC-B while PC-A decides.
Pull request #282
2. An E-com month opens on one PC at a time Ledger Map Edge
On E-com Desk, one month of a party can be open on only one PC. Other months stay free, and the same take-over works.
Ramesh and Suresh both open September for Tulsi Traders.
✕The last save wins, and one person's work is gone.
The app does not load September. It shows where it is open.
Take overChoose another month
Suresh chooses October instead. It opens at once.
If September moves to PC-B and later back to PC-A, PC-A loads it again from the server, with Suresh's changes. Its old copy is thrown away.
Good
- No overwritten GSTR-1 work.
- Two people can still work on the same party, on different months.
Watch out
- The month opens a moment later ("Opening September 2026…") while the app asks the server.
Pull request #291
3. Other desks no longer push the other PC out Ledger Map Edge
Each PC keeps its own link to a party, so opening it on Bank Reco Desk on PC-B does not break PC-A.
Ramesh works on Patel Offset. Suresh checks Patel Offset in Bank Reco Desk.
PC-A's link was dropped.
Both keep working. Each PC reads Miracle itself every 30 seconds, and when you press refresh.
The ledger list stays safe: if both PCs send the same Miracle change, the second sees it is out of date and takes the server's list.
Pull request #284
4. The party list updates by itself Every app
The party list is fetched again every 30 seconds, and whenever you come back to the window.
Ramesh imports "Gupta Steel". Suresh's list does not show it until he restarts the app.
✕PC-B is out of date.
Within 30 seconds, Gupta Steel appears on PC-B. The same goes for renames and deletions. There is no loading flicker and no error box.
✓Both lists match.
Pull request #284
5. Stars belong to each PC Every app · server only
Starring a party, and dragging stars into order, changes only that PC's list.
Suresh stars "Shah Traders" and moves it to the top.
✕Ramesh's list changes too.
Each PC gets a copy of the stars you have today, once, so nobody loses theirs.
★ Gupta Steel
★ Patel Offset
This works as soon as the server is updated. No app update is needed.
Pull request #285
6. Bank Reco Desk keeps its list for every PC Every app
Bank Reco Desk's list of a party's PDFs is now saved on our server, not only on the PC.
Ramesh checks 3 bank PDFs for Patel Offset. Suresh opens Patel Offset in Bank Reco Desk.
✕Suresh sees an empty list.
Suresh sees the same 3 PDFs. A change on either PC is saved within half a second; the last change wins.
- A list this PC kept before the update is sent once, so it is not lost.
- A list cleared on one PC stays cleared on the others.
- A change this PC could not send (no internet) is not replaced by an older list from the server, and is sent again.
Pull request #289
7. New companies are answered once for the office Every app
When Miracle has a new company, one answer from anyone in the office counts for every PC.
Every PC watches the same shared Miracle folder, so every PC shows the "New company" pop-up.
✕Suresh is asked about a company Ramesh already imported, or already said "Not now" to.
✕A backup copy of a company could be imported as a second party.
- Just before the pop-up, the app asks the server what was imported, and what someone said "Not now" to.
- Not now (or Escape) holds for the whole office. Import parties still lists the company, if you want it later.
- A company whose import failed is asked again.
- Backup copies are never offered in the pop-up. Import parties can still add one on purpose.
Pull request #287
8. Reading Miracle while another PC saves Every app
If Miracle on another PC is saving at the moment Ledger Map reads, Ledger Map waits a moment and reads again by itself.
Suresh saves a voucher in Miracle while Ramesh's Ledger Map reads the books.
✕"Miracle is updating its files" or "is incomplete. Close Miracle and try again", which an office cannot do.
Ledger Map tries again after 0.25, 0.75 and 1.5 seconds. Only if all four reads fail does a message show: "Try again once Miracle has saved."
Ledger Map only reads Miracle's files and never writes them, so this cannot damage Miracle's data.
Pull request #283
9. Each PC can have a name you choose Admin panel
In the admin panel's PCs page, each approved PC has a Name button. Other PCs see that name.
The take-over page says "open on DESKTOP-1ELHGEP (Ramesh)".
✕Hard to read, and two PCs typed as the same company look alike.
DESKTOP-1ELHGEP · Security chip
NameRevoke
Leave the name empty to go back to the Windows name.
Pull request #290

What happens next
Merge #282 first. #290 and #291 are built on it. The rest can go in any order; after the first one merges, the others need a quick update, which I can do.
Update the server first, then publish Ledger Map Edge. Stars (#285) work with the server update alone.
Two real Windows PCs on a Miracle LAN: open one party on both, press Take over, let the countdown run out, and press Do not surrender. This has not been tested on real PCs yet.
Try the real screens with made-up data: live preview (it works only while it runs on my PC).
